Made my debut with new band Splinter on Thursday (080808). It was a typical wedding gig, everyone dancing and seemingly enjoying the band, but the place was devoid of real atmosphere. The venue, Hazlewod Castle at Tadcaster was imposing, its and ex carmelite monastry -The Monastry of Sound (tee hee). Anyway the lads in the band helped me through and in the end we did some fairly good suff. I particularly enjoyed our cover of the Guns n Roses classic 'sweet child'. More gigs coming up so baxk to listening to the cd's and practising on my electronic kit!!

Holiday in Scotland 08
We decided to spend a few days in scotland this summer. We visited the Isle of Mull and the town of Tobermoray which is where the kids tv classic Balamory is filmed - Sophie my youngest daughter loved it!
We also took a ferry to the Island of Iona, it has a wonderful abbey and is also the place where former Labout leader John Smith is buried.
On the way back we stopped off in Edinburgh and took in the Zoo and the Castle. We spent 5 days in scotland and had sun everyday and no rain!! -unheard of -we had a brilliant time.

Sophie's Birthday
Yesterday my youngest daughter was 2
We will be having a family party today - but yesterday we took Sophie to Hesketh Family Farm/Park. Its near Bolton Abbey on the edge of the Yorkshire dales.
Sophie had a fantastic time (as did her brother James! (6))
As she's so young Sophie seemed oblivious to the fact it was her special day. She goes at life with her amp on 11 anyway so she left us trailing in her wake!
My older daughters will be coming over today and I will be feeling very proud and very old!

My God its me!
Thanks to David Nassur for the picture.
This was taken in 1977 ish in Hoyland Near Barnsley - Arc Rouge's North of England tour (tee hee) I was 18.
Not sure what I was so happy about (probably about having the camera to myself!) Ah the dreams that boys have when they worship slavishly at the alter of Rock and Roll .
